Good Hair Day…

misc and corn 8.23.09 019 Not for me. But for the CORN!  Me… I need a neckectomy AND a hair do… Oh yes, and that is the tallest of the good day corn…

misc and corn 8.23.09 015 Soft and silky, blowing in the soft breeze.  Make you want to reach  out and touch it to see if it really is as soft as it looks… it is. This is the biggest of the good day corn.misc and corn 8.23.09 022 Makes me feel good knowing there is going to be at least one ear for me to sample.  I think there will be more but I learned a long time ago not to count the proverbial chickens…

misc and corn 8.23.09 011 The biggest of the bad day corn.

misc and corn 8.23.09 013 Up past my knee, you know the knee, the one with the double knee cap.  Almost all the color is gone now and the lump is getting smaller.

misc and corn 8.23.09 021 In keeping it honest and true to the test, this is the smallest good day corn.  It hasn’t matured yet as much as the biggest bad day  corn plant, but it’s getting there.misc and corn 8.23.09 020The littlest of the bad day corn.  One has laid down and the other is still trying to hang on.

corn patch 1 And I must not  forget the photo with the sprinkler in it for reference.  Good day corn on the right and bad day corn on the left.

So folks, that the farm corn report for the week.  Things will start happening quicker now that at least one has started laying out the silks, so don’t be surprised if you get a corn report quickie during the week.  I’ll be checking it daily to make sure the bugs and corn worms don’t get my corn… I’ve worked too hard to not get at least one corn on the cob.

Have a great Monday, y’all, ya hear!

Oooops... I told off on myself Dar... I've been real good. I came in Sunday and took off the brace, sat down, put my feet up then remembered I hadn't taken corn pics. I figured it would be a good time for a knee report, too. I went out, took photos and came back in and put my feet up. So, Dr. Dar, I haven't been too bad.

Sass, I CAN'T just put ROFL! Because I'm making everybody in the room look over here at my hootin' and hollerin'! A "neckectomy!!!" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha. Guess you'd have to NEED one to think it was that funny. Let's see if we can get a package deal. :)

Glad the knee is looking better and feeling better. And the corn ain't bad neither!

Good corn, bad corn. Left.., right. I'm so confused. I really think you should try some other vegetable.
I can't grow corn, here, but if this is a sample of crop production in Oaklahoma... I think I understand why they had a DUST BOWL. You, my darlin' are gonna starve to death.

I got my ass whooping already Dr. Dar... you don't have to beat me with it again...

Thank you PS.Canola or peanut oil what ever you think you can work with. Extra Virgin would probably smoke and burn off just touchin' my skin...

Amy.. Good to meet you, girlfriend. I, too, love good sweet corn. Carn on the cob or cut it off the ear, put it and a little butter... mmmm.

Oh and Amy don't pay much attention to Dar... Dar she lives with the Pastor. Don't want to get her into a bunch of mischief girl. But it could be a money maker...

That do is the easiest one I've ever had... Get out of the tub, towel it run a pick or a brush through it... done.

Robynn sweet Robynn... you find the deal and I'll get out there and get a neckectomy with you. I can deal with the wrinkledy elbows and knees but I do not like my jowls or my double chin/neck. When I win the lottery that sucker is toast.

Karen, you are welcome to send it on to the Mocks. Any of my stuff you can send to them.

Hope you are on the road to wellness.

Farmlady we only started out with twenty seeds. Next year if I plant corn I will plant more of it. And I could stand to lose about 30-40 pounds. But the gardening is not time cost effective. I just do it for fun and supplement our foodstuffs with some homegrown food. It's a hell-of-a-lot of work.
