I told you to expect surprise corn posts… Lookie here!
This is just two days after the first silks showed up. That plant now has 2 ears, then top right and bottom left each have one and the fourth plant on the bottom right hasn’t shown it’s silks yet but it is identifiable as an ear. This is sooo cool.
And for you all that are tired of corn… how about blanket flowers…
Or hens and chicks…
And last but definitely not the least… in fact it’s the most… A new T-shirt that my Bro surprised me with a couple of days ago.
As soon as I get cleaned up I’ll have Bro or Missy take my picture with it on… I love it and it is definitely ME!

Amazing how much it grew!! Thank you so much for these 2 corn reports. Looks like you'll for sure be the first to taste the corn. Can't wait-I sure hope it's good after all this.
Love the shirt too.
Wow, what a difference a couple of days make...NOTICED there were no knees in the picture...lol learnt your lesson aaa missy
I love your pictures - and I love corn! Reminds me of childhood and my grandparents' garden - lots of corn stalks to run through and play hide in seek in.
Helen...,more CORN pictures. You're just a child of the corn, aren't you. LOL.
Is that silk good for anything? Can you use it (dried) to stuff pillows or something? It's very pretty.
The corn is looking good. I love your blanket flowers! Nice T-shirt too! What a wonderful brother you have!
I love surprises like this.
Won't be long before you'll be eating corn. And I'll be SOOOO jealous.
Helen, your corn is coming right along. A couple of days really do make a difference!
Love the shirt, BTW!!
Tipper I'm glad you got by yesterday to see the changes happening quick. I'm excited.
Dar, I should have gotten my knee in the photo so you could see I'm following dr. Dar's orders...
Medora I love corn too and I can remember playing at my aunt and uncle's many, many years ago... but there's no way to play hide and seek in my little bitty patch.
Oh Lord farmlady, I hated that movie. Too scary. I don't do scary because then I have nightmares... and I'm a vivid dreamer. I'll ask Tipper about the silks, but I don't remember mom or Aunt Mack saying anything about them.
Hetty I love the blanket flowers too. There are some new varieties that I'd like to try. I'll have them all over the plantation if I have my way about it. They are beautiful to me in all stages, from buds to seed heads. And my Bro is pretty good... most days. :-)
Becky come on out. I'll share with you anytime.
Amy, I am having a lot of fun with the good day/bad day corn trial. And I LOVE my shirt, too... Makes a statement for me...
Love the T-shirt!
What a sweet brother! Can't wait to see you in the shirt, Sass.
How DO you make that garden change so FAST?! Are you pouring beer on it in the middle of the night?
Your garden must be magical - how else could it be so successful? We're happy to get even half of what we start with to produce anything!
Nice t-shirt!
Oh wow! Look at those corn! Isn't Mother Nature awesome! I bet that will be the sweetest corn you'll ever taste!
Ronda I love it too, it was a good surprise.
Robynn, I'll probably wear it tomorrow when we go out for Jeff's birthday tomorrow. And I will get photos taken so I can share.
I don't waste my money on beer. I just go out and talk to the plants, encouraging them and tell them in a sweet voice that if they don't produce I'll pull them out by their scrawny necks. And I smile sweetly at them the whole time I'm chatting.
You have some nice photos of your growing thingys. Very nice and much to be proud of!
Love the corn pics, Helen, I must say I am surprised with growth and the ears! Woohoo! Proud of you, and glad I watched the progress...
Love the T-Shirt..And, you Blog Picture of the Reddirt Woman logo!
Hmm, it's certainly looking like there really is a difference between planting days & fruitful harvest!
Olathe's famous corn is in season in SW. CO. & oh boy is it yummy!
