The Finished Job…

My baby brother sent me these photos… He came in from his shift at Fast Track at the hospital where he works about 11 p.m. on last Wednesday night, heard the ruckus and knew what was happening.   He managed to snap a shot of yours truly doing one of the things I most love to do… DEMOLITION.   I had my hammer drill with the chisel bit and I was gettin’ it done.  He knows how much I love my power tools.  And while a lot of times when I’m really concentrating on what I’m doing I might stick my tongue out of the corner of my mouth,  ala Michael Jordan, I do NOT do it when using my hammer drill because the dust is gritty and tastes nasty.  Anyway, after he did the caulking around the firebox he was kind enough to send me a photo of the finished project.

hmg with power tools By the way… that is mostly my t-shirt hanging down, not my belly…

But here is the finished project and it was done and dry for them to entertain probably about 30 family members for Thanksgiving today.

finished job And they were thankful for so very many things, but one of them I know for sure is that I ran down and helped bust out the old tile that they had been wanting to change out for several years and then helping get it all back together in time for Thanksgiving.

And it’s good to know that there are folks in this world that are thankful for me… at least once in a while.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with many blessings.  I know that despite everything else in my life I have many more blessings than woes and all of you that stop by and visit and have become my friends through this blogging world are right up there after my family, and once in a while, before them…

That looks absolutely beautiful!
I want to re-do my heater/firplace area, and maybe, just maybe, you've given me the "tools" to do it myself.
I was going to ask you to come visit me here in Australia, but you would probably know that I'd have ulterior motives...LOL!

Demolition Woman. Yes! What a great job. You amaze me.
I think someone needs a big hug to let her know just how much she is appreciated. You have had a wild ride with the move and all.
Please know that your friends out here in Blogland love you and think you are a talented, funny and wonderful person. Don't let anyone tell you different.
Things will settle down soon.
Please take care of yourself and take some time just for Helen.

WOW! You are such a handy (wo)man. Looks like we are going to have to do our floors ourselves. Insurance is nt going to cover it. I keep trying to get folks to come over for a demo party. Looks great.

Beck, do you want me to bring my tile saw and tools? yes they will get better.

Ronda folks like you and me either don

't have anyone to fix stuff so we had to learn. Sounds like we are both good with our hands.

Tatersmama if I could figure out to get down there I'd send my tools down or we could rent them there, I don't know that I could swim that far with a tile saw strapped to my back. Don't you know we'd have fun.

Teht must really love Peach counrty. The will need to get hit with a pretty cold jolt before it dawns on them that it is sleepy time.

Huuuuuugggggggsssss right back at you.

I think I'm going to take the pups and go visit my cousin that lives out close to Meeker and visit 4 or 5 days. Get the hell out of Dodge as they say.

Hetty I love, love, love power tools. If I were 40 years younger I'd have loved working with a demolition crew. Then they could clean and level it and go away and let me build something on it... Talk about a happy camper.

Michelle, all I need is a place for me and my 2 mini-schnauzers to sleep and a little sustenance and an invite and I'll come down. We can take photos and blog about it from each of our perspectives.

Great job on the fireplace. Sorry to hear you are having to move again, hope this time it will be less muddy-and more permanent.
Be careful, woman!

Howdy Helen
WOW this really turned out to be awesome !
I am so glad you posted the photo.
I am thankful you got the chance to go and be a part of this project.
It always feels so good to be part of something for others.
I am praying for ya to find just the right place where you need to be at this time.
Life is ever changing.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to just be in one place for a while.
Seriously I wish you all the best and am sending lots of big hugs with happy thoughts your way.
You just hang on sweeetie and know that things do work out in the strangest ways but they do turn right side up again .
God be with you to hold as you go forward .
I'm here ,I know not the same as being there but please remember you have a special place in my heart.
Big Hugs
Happy Trails

Helen, I haven't been on in a while to blog...had a death in the family and such. I just caught on on your "life" and all I gotta say is...wow! Good luck with your next move. I hope the rain-God holds up until you are through this time. You will be in my prayers. When one door shuts a window opens they say...I hope a huge window opens for you and that your life gets easier...at least you have the loyal fur-babies to keep you company.

Lots of us are thankful for you - chisel or not - though I could use that chisel of yours on the entry way tile. Gotta go to make room for the wood.

Great job and frankly, I was thinkin' your belly looked a little thin compared to mine! lol
