Don't Make Me Laugh...

please. .. it hurts.

This is gonna be a bad news good news kind of post. The bad news is I have two broken ribs. The good news is I didn't puncture my lung in the fall. The bad news is if I'm not careful I could still end up with a punctured lung because the ribs are really broken. If I move wrong they pop inside me and that hurts... badly. The good news is I'm pretty dang good at sitting very still... as long as I have my computer in my lap or I have something to occupy my hands or my mind. The bad news about that is this time of year is particularly busy in the garden. The good news is I figured out that I can sit on a stool or my butt to weed and plant.

More good news? I can sit on the couch and look at the windows and see beauty like this:

I really like having more good news than bad.

Oh, I'm so sorry. From a simple volleyball game. Darn it! I hope they heal up fast. I know it IS painful.
Be sure to take deep breaths every so often, to keep from getting pneumonia.

I wont' make you laugh... I promise.
You poor darlin',I know what broken ribs feel like (I did 7 a few years back) and it's not fun at ALL. Stay still, stay quiet, and try and stay sane! ;-)

Getting in and out of bed in the middle of the night was the worst for me...
(I'm menopausal. Nuff said, okay?)

Take care of YOU and with all that sittin' around, am I wrong in hoping that you'll be posting more?
See, I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation, here!

*gentle hugs*

Take good care of yourself! Sounds like you need a little pampering.

Your flowers are lovely and the painted chair in the one photo is so fun.

OMG Helen...what were you doing to fall is what I want to know. We all know what you do to your laptop...! So, were you balancing on the top of the ladder on uneven ground..hummmm

Dang that is painful my mother has done that. Sit still, order stuff on line that will make you feel better...at least till all the bills come in.

I can smell Mississippi, we are about 6 hours out at the KOA in Georgia..can't wait to be home.. but boy do I miss them babies!

Howdy Sweet Lady
Oh no ,you need to take it way easy on yourself honey !
Don't take any chances.
I promise with all my heart when you get well I will still be here on your blog.
I visit a lot but I don't always leave comments because ,well
my darned old computer is slower than molasses and I get impatient and give up .
I will stop giving in to my impatient self if you will take it easy !
I am so glad you have such a beautiful view to look at.
It is truly beautiful.
We have been having a heat wave here and lots of storms.
My pretty flowers are burnt to a crisp and it is only June.
Please know that my prayers are with you .
Blessings to you for a speedy recovery.
Gentle hugs to you :)

OMG woman! This is awful how will you manage? And no you will NOT be able to sit & weed it will hurt like bloody hell! It will be a few weeks before you begin to feel at all comfortable, broken ribs are hellishly painful!!
You may find sleeping in a recliner is best, prayers for speedy recovery, exponentially fast!

I thought you might have done something bad when you didn't post for a few days after telling us about your volleyball exhibit.... I am sorry you broke your ribs, but what a story you have to tell.... I hope your family is being nice to you and maybe being supportive to you and for you.

Just take it easy and try not to be superwoman atleast for the next few weeks!

I was afraid that the news wasn't good when you didn't post for a while after telling about your volleyball escapade. I'm so sorry! Take care of yourself.

Helen, I am sorry about your ribs! That is a very painful experience. Now, not to make you laugh, but you know those clamps you've been holding your laptop together with, reckon maybe you could clamp your ribs with those and get around better?
Recover soon!
