In my mind at least it's spring in Oklahoma, even though it's not March 21st yet. Today it got up to almost 90 F. In the house. Yep. It signals the heat coming to Oklahoma when you go to turn on the A.C. and it doesn't blow cold and you know you live in Oklahoma when you have the A.C. repair people on speed dial.
Another official sign in our house is when I get the "change out the seasonal clothes" attack. I packed up everything that might keep me warm, put it in the storage building and brought all the clothes that only keep me from being arrested for running around with nothing on because I'm so hot I can hardly stand it.
And the last official sign at my house... It's time to either shave my legs for the shorts or braid it and try to sell it as the new "in thing" to do.
Love you all... welcome to spring in Oklahoma.
"..almost 90 degrees."? Air conditioning? Good grief.... I thought you were having a bad winter. I thought you were freezing out there. What happen?
ReplyDeleteDid Oklahoma forget there are four seasons? You've got Summer already. I'd be dying.....
braid it..OMG, too funny Helen. It was in the upper 40's here today so I'm thinking you are delerious with Spring fever!!
ReplyDeletep.s. stop over my place and enter my Spring-fling give-away...
ReplyDeleteConnie, two nights ago I had to cover the new rose bushes we planted because the temp went below freezing. Right now it is almost midnite and it is 82F. outside and inside. Sometimes we have some summer before we have spring and sometimes it just goes to summer temps.
ReplyDeleteJoJo I couldn't resist... I was actually being facetious because I only have about 14 hairs on either leg. Seems the older I get the less hairy I am... I'll stop by.
As I read this post I was thinking like Farmlady - I carried on down realising I'd missed a couple of your posts, and thinking I must have imagined that you were still having snow and freezing weather last time I read your blog. What an extraordinary place you live in!
ReplyDeleteYou sound better and chirpier.
Caroline
I remember spring in OK. we used to watch the skies a lot too. LOL
ReplyDeletetime to get out the summer duds!
Whoo hoo! Spring! I know you are lovin this, aren't you? ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI think we were close to 80 yesterday. I'm trying not to turn on A/C until at least April hahahaha. Had to turn the ceiling fan on last night.

ReplyDeleteEnvious of your lovely weather. We are expecting snow tonight.
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile : ) heating up here too!
ReplyDeleteI have some tiny beads for those braids, if'n you want them!! And girl, I fully understand the whole
ReplyDelete"keep me from being arrested for running around with nothing on because I'm so hot I can hardly stand it" comment. I thought I could handle heat... until menopause set in, and I've never switched back! 8 years of stripping off like a 2-bit lap-dancer at every opportunity, is NOT pleasant!
I made it through the entire summer without once shaving my legs - thanks to our coldest and wettest summer on record! Lord knows what my legs are gonna look like after a whole YEAR of being covered up!! Hairy fish-bellies?
Welcome the season with smile. Enjoy every activity suitable for this lovely season. Good luck! Be happy always!
